da betsson: Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is hoping to bring more new faces to Anfield before the August transfer window slams shut, according to Sky Sports.
da pixbet: The Northern Irishman has so far added Fabio Borini and Joe Allen to his new-look Liverpool side since replacing Kenny Dalglish at the start of the summer.
Rodgers says the club have been locked in talks with a number of rival clubs for unnamed players, and hopes there will be more to announce in the next fortnight.
“There has been contact and communication with the clubs,” Rodgers told Liverpoolfc.com. “The team of people behind myself are working very, very hard in relation to those targets.
“We hope that within the next number of weeks those will bear fruit.
“The work has been continual right the way through to try and get in players that fit the profile of Liverpool and the team. I would hope there would be a couple more signings before the end of August.”
Rodgers has overseen the departures of Fabio Aurelio, Alberto Aquilani, Craig Bellamy and Dirk Kuyt, whilst recalling Joe Cole from a loan spell at Lille.
The return from injury of Lucas Leiva, alongside the recent news Luis Suarez has signed a new long-term contract at the club, means Liverpool fans have spent the summer believing Rodgers will oversee a huge improvement on last season’s disappointing eighth-placed finish.
However, Rodgers is keen to explain there is still more work to be done to shape the squad he wants, as he bids to revive a sleeping giant.
He said: “We obviously haven’t brought in too many players, but there are some players that have gone out for a number of reasons.
“There is still a lot of work to do within the group and there will probably be more changes between now and the end of August in terms of ins and outs.
“Come the end of August when everyone is here, we can be real focused and be together, and start on the journey to hopefully having a real good campaign.”
