Leeds had previously been linked with an ambitious move for Marcelo Bielsa, but developments on that front have been slow over the last week.
As second options go, Bruce is an excellent choice, with experience of promotion to the Premier League and his in depth current knowledge of the division and the players in it.
Leeds fans certainly appear keen and while the Bielsa link was undoubtedly exciting, many would accept Bruce as a pragmatic and realistic alternative.
