da dobrowin: A report in The Daily Mail over the weekend suggested that Sunderland are one of the clubs interested in signing highly-rated Dundee midfielder Glen Kamara, as Jack Ross looks to ensure that the club returns to the Championship at the first time of asking following a positive start to their League One campaign.
The 22-year-old former Arsenal man has made a huge impression north of the border and for his national team, Finland, in recent times, and he scored and picked up the man-of-the-match award for his country in their 2-0 UEFA Nations League win against Greece on Monday.
The defensive midfielder’s contract with the Scottish Premiership outfit is due to expire at the end of the season, and with no new deal in sight yet he would be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with an English club in January, or secure a permanent move away for what could be a reasonable fee.
Should he arrive at the Stadium of Light, he would be competing with the likes of Lee Cattermole, Max Power and Dylan McGeouch for a spot in the heart of the Black Cats midfield, and it could be the former’s spot that would come under the most threat.
The 30-year-old has actually been one of the Wearside outfit’s best performers in England’s third tier this term – he has scored three goals and provided one assist in 10 League One outings – but he also has plenty of flaws in his game as well.
We want Sunderland fans to vote on our poll above to tell us whether they think the £40,000-a-week man should be dropped if Ross completes an exciting deal for Kamara in January.
