Leeds United need to strengthen their goalkeeper options, and a whopping 94% of fans polled want that to be Fulham star Marcus Bettinelli.
The 26-year-old was key to the Craven Cottage outfit gaining promotion from the Championship via the play-offs last season, but has found minutes harder to come by in the Premier League.
The arrival of Sergio Rico in the summer pushed Bettinelli down the pecking order, despite setting the third-highest percentage of clean sheets for goalkeepers with more than ten appearances during his side’s play-off winning season.
Leeds, meanwhile, have regularly relied on the services of Bailey Peacock-Farrell, even though Marcelo Bielsa admitted he had decided to drop the 22-year-old in November.
However, an injury to Chelsea loanee Jamal Blackman meant Bielsa was forced to stick with the club’s own goalkeeper.
Burnley’s 32-year-old shot-stopper Tom Heaton and Newcastle’s Karl Darlow have both been linked with moves to Elland Road in recent weeks, but the option fans want considered is Fulham’s Bettinelli.
A staggering 94% of fans voted in favour of the Englishman joining in a recent Football FanCast poll, with 81% of those keen on the goalkeeper joining on a permanent basis straight away.
