When speaking on the West Ham Way Podcast 163, ExWHUemployee suggested that the Hammers could reignite their interest in Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson.
West Ham United had talks to sign the 25-year-old in the summer, but they eventually stalled, as reported by L’Equipe at the time.
The position is still a priority for West Ham, as mentioned during the podcast, with Sanson being placed alongside Gedson Fernandes and Joe Allen as players who could be approached to fill it.

He may not have made the move during the summer, but Sanson has proven during the time since then that he could be a useful player for David Moyes’ side.
The below statistics offer an indication of how effective the Frenchman can be in both the attacking and defensive phases.
Looking closer at his attacking statistics, Sanson has scored three goals and assisted two more from his 17 starts and one substitute appearance – one of those goals and both of the assists played important parts in Marseille securing three points.
His statistics also indicate that he is heavily involved when Marseille are defending. That is because as well as averaging 1.9 tackles and 0.8 interceptions per game, he has given away 1.8 fouls and been dribbled past 1.4 times – though this could offer an indication that he needs to improve his tackling.
That he averages 1.6 dribbles and 1.3 key passes per game should be seen as an encouraging sign, because it means that as well as helping to win the ball back, the 25-year-old can help drive the team forward.

Most importantly out of all of this, is that he will add a genuine option that Moyes can use in the midfield, unlike current players at the club, namely Carlos Sanchez.
The Colombian has managed just 113 minutes of Premier League football this campaign – it is unimaginable that Sanson would get a number that low across half a season injury permitting.
Meanwhile, West Ham have a free run at signing a prolific striker who scored 34 goals.
