Xavi provided an update on the Spanish midfielder's condition, who played his first Barcelona game since picking up a muscular injury mid-December, after he replaced Sergio Roberto in the 61st minute. The manager confirmed that the player has fully regained fitness and is ready to start against arch-rivals Real Madrid in the Super Cup final on Sunday.

When asked at the post-match press conference if Pedri will start against Los Blancos, the Blaugrana manager said: "Yes, he's (Pedri) fine. I talked to him and he's ready, yes."
Xavi was also asked if he would field a four-man midfield in the final, to which he added: "I don't rule out anything. We'll prepare for this match in the best way. I haven't decided the plan nor the starting XI for the final. We don't know how the players have ended today, considering fatigue and injuries."
