da bet7k: With Liverpool flying high and scoring for fun at the top of the Premier League, you’d forgive Jurgen Klopp for not wanting to add any more players to his squad in January.
da betsul: The German has transformed the Reds into an attacking juggernaut, getting the best out of players like Adam Lallana, James Milner and Dejan Lovren in the process.
Klopp has also recruited well, with £35million summer signing Sadio Mane the club’s current top scorer, while Joel Matip and Giorgionio Wiljnaldum have also impressed since joining from Schalke and Newcastle United respectively.
But with the table so tight at the top and the Merseysiders set to lose Mane to the African Cup of Nations in the new year, Klopp must be considering at least a few potential January transfer targets as the mid-season window looms.
Here are four suggested additions who may have caught his eye during the international break.
ANDREA BELOTTI
Andrea Belotti has already been linked with a move to Liverpool by the Italian media and his recent performances may be enough to convince Klopp to put some money on the table in the new year.
The 22-year-old has been in stunning form for Torino this season, scoring eight goals in ten Serie A games.
He also looked sharp for Italy, bagging a brace against lowly-Liechtenstein and looking the most likely to score in a 0-0 draw against Germany.
LUDWIG AUGUSTINSSON
As one of the standout players in FC Copenhagen’s Champions League campaign, Ludwig Augustinsson is building quite a reputation for himself.
The marauding full-back has bagged two assists in four European games to put the Danish side in contention for a last-16 place.
The 22-year-old was one of the better players on the pitch in Sweden’s 2-1 loss to France and Liverpool are still looking for a specialist left-back. Calcio Mercato claim the Reds saw a bid rejected by Copenhagen during the summer.
JONATHAN TAH
While Joel Matip coming in alongside Dejan Lovren has shored up the Reds’ backline to an extent, they’ve still only managed one clean sheet this season.
Klopp is looking to move for another Bundesliga defender in Jonathan Tah, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Bayer Leverkusen youngster replaced Mats Hummels at half-time against Italy and looked very assured. He could well bring some authority to the Liverpool defence despite being just 20 years old.
JONAS HECTOR
Another left-back linked with Liverpool over the summer was Jonas Hector and he may well be back on the radar after an impressive attacking performance against San Marino.
It may have been against a side ranked 201st in the world, but it was an impressive showing regardless as he managed two goals from no.3 – while the likes of Thomas Muller couldn’t beat the San Marino goalkeeper.
He’s been going strong in the Bundesliga as well this season, producing 14 created chances from his ten outings thus far.
